| A Balanced Mind

When we have unbalanced attitudes toward others, feeling strong attachment to some and strong aversion toward others it causes us suffering both now and in the future. If we want to protect ourselves from suffering we need to remove biased attitudes from our mind and learn to view everyone with warmth and goodwill. On this course we will learn to develop a mind of equanimity, an equally warm and friendly attitude toward all living beings.

The wisdom of Buddha is timeless and remains relevant to our modern lives. This introductory course will cover the basics of Buddhist philosophy, with an emphasis on how we can incorporate these principles into our daily life to help us to increase our happiness and reduce our problems.
Purifying the Past

Due to our uncontrolled minds we have committed many negative actions that have harmed others. In the process we have accumulated negative karma which now brings us suffering and prevents us from being happy. On this day course learn how to purify the negative karma that you have accumulated and free yourself from suffering.
Inner Wealth

In life, we often focus on building up our wealth and possessions because we feel that this will help us to be happy and give us some protection. However, true happiness and freedom from suffering will only come if we build the inner wealth of positive states of mind. The mind of faith is a powerful positive state of mind and an ‘inner wealth’ that provides the foundation for building other positive states of mind.
The Nature of Reality

Is there anything out there? What is reality? What is the relationship between my mind and my reality? Through understanding the true nature of reality we can gain the ability to permanently free ourselves from all problems, there is no greater practice than this.
The Power of Humility

Just as water cannot collect on mountain peaks, so good qualities cannot gather on the rocky peaks of pride. If we maintain a humble and respectful attitude toward everyone, good qualities and inspiration will flow into our mind all the time, like streams flowing into a valley. With a humble mind we approach the world and other people with an open mind and generous heart, and learn from everyone.
