Learn to Meditate

Whether we simply want to be more peaceful, or whether we want to develop spiritual insights, meditation is the perfect method for everyone. Teies introductory Learn to Meditate classes provide a grounding in the essential practices of meditation, including stilling the mind and contemplative meditation, with an emphasis on how we can realistically incorporate meditation into our daily lives. This classes will provide you with all the basic instructions that you need to be able to establish a regular meditation practice.
Course structure
Session 1: The benefits of meditation, developing a strong motivation to meditate, how to sustain a meditation practice.
Session 2: The nuts and bolts of meditation including preparing for meditation, posture, and what to do when you are meditating.
Session 3: Understanding concentration, how to develop and improve it.
Session 4: Introduction to contemplative meditation.
Learn to Meditate classes are held at the Fremantle Centre (unless otherwise specified). They are presented as a course but you can attend on a drop in basis if you wish. You can do the course over four weeks or as a one-day retreat. Please book if you would like to attend.
Course dates
Four-week courses
Fremantle - Tuesday nights: 7 - 8.30pm7 Feb - 28 Feb, 24 April - 5 May, 5 June - 26 June
$13 per class or $50 for the full four weeks.
One-day courses
Fremantle - Saturdays: 10am - 5pm
11 Feb, 28 April, 16 June
The cost for one-day courses is $67, which includes a vegetarian lunch and morning and afternoon tea.
