Meditation and Buddhism Class
Venue: Quakers Meeting House, 35 Clifton Crescent
Class fee: $15 per class (no charge for FP & TTP students or Centre Card Holders). Please kindly note that card payment is not available at this venue.
These classes present Buddha's teachings in a practical and accessible way and are suitable for everyone. Each class consists of a guided breathing meditation, a talk by Kelsang Ani on an aspect of Buddhist practice or philosophy and a guided contemplative meditation. There is also an opportunity to ask questions at the end, either in class, or stay and have a cup of tea. .
Topics and Class dates:
Overcoming anxiety and stress – w/c 2 May to w/c 6 June (6 weeks) Stress and anxiety prevent us from experiencing peace of mind. Buddhist wisdom enables us to gradually remove worry and fear and become a more balanced, peaceful and happy person.
3, 10, 17, 24 31 May; 7 Jun (6 weeks)
Living Mindfully – w/c 13 June to w/c 4 July (4 weeks)
The power to overcome disturbing thoughts and to stay focussed on what brings us peace of mind both in and out of meditation.
14, 21, 28 Jun; 5 Jul (4 weeks)
Please note: Classes are run as terms with a common theme, however each class is a stand-alone class so you don't need to start at the beginning of the term or even attend all the classes in a term, just drop in as you are able to. There's no need to book. No previous meditation experience is required.
