A Kadampa Heart...Essential advice for a happy life
Friday 6 Sept - Sunday 8 Sept
$190 (includes all teachings, meals and accomodation)
Spend a weekend in the surrounds of Serpentine immersing yourself in beautiful, practical advice for developing a pure and kind heart. A Kadampa is someone who practices Buddha's teachings. They live what they learn and in so doing try to bring happiness to everyone around them.
The teachings and meditations on this weekend retreat will be based on a precious set of instructions known as "Advice from Atisha's Heart". In these teachings Venerable Atisha, himself a true Kadampa gives practical advice that we can all apply in our busy modern lives. By putting these teachings into practice we will develop a pure and happy mind.
"Always keep a smiling face and a loving mind,
and speak truthfully without malice."
The weekend will be a refreshing mix of teachings and meditations with an emphasis on realizing how we can use the advice in our daily lives. There is great benefit in taking time out from our usual lives to contemplate the meditate but some of the greatest benefit from that is that we then take back into our lives what we have understood. Weekend retreats always involve plenty of time for socializing and discussing with others or many opportunities to have some quiet time on your own if you prefer. And there is always plenty of nourishing, delicious food!
